Empressa Tile UV: the first commercial ceramic tile with laboratory certification for color and image durability!
Empressa Tile provides commercial grade tile for multiple purposes, but some designers and architects require guaranteed light fastness to protect images and colors from the damaging effects of the sun.
Many substrate dealers claim to have UV "protection" for ceramics and tiles, but this is invariably a simple spray coat applied over standard tile and sublimation ink. This is not a guaranteed formula, and this type of protection cannot stand up to the demands of commercial use.
Empressa Tile is the first tile product line tested and certified for commercial use. Our products have been rigorously tested by independent laboratories and have attained grade certification for interior decoration. Designers and architects can be assured of color and image durability and longevity from UV exposure.
Empressa Tile UV is not a standard desktop sublimation substrate. Empressa Tile UV uses a special ceramic ink formulation designed specifically for ceramic tile decoration. Ink is printed directly to the tiles using standard Epson print head technology, and then locked into the tiles using Octi-Tech’s patent pending Empressa Tile technology.
Early testing of Empressa Tile UV tiles and ceramic ink have already yielded results far in excess of any other inkjet decoration process. With the Empressa Tile UV we aim to deliver printed products to designers and architects with 10 year UV light fastness guarantees.
